For those who have their ski pass for the Sybelles ski area, there are free shuttles between Corbier and la Toussuire, as well as between Saint Sorlin d'Arves and Saint Jean d'Arves. You can also park your car for free in all the car parks in the ski area!

The La Toussuire ski resort has 42 ski runs suited to all levels and a vertical drop of over 1,000m! There are 3 beginner zones, with a fun play area called the "Snowpy Mountain Zone". Your kids can learn to ski while also enjoying a host of snow activities:

• Downhill skiing (of course!), Our favourite: the red "Grand Turc" piste, which has a 900 m vertical drop from the 2,200 metre-high summit.

Our top tips for enjoying a summer holiday at La Toussuire!

To book a holiday rental in the mountains in summer, that's a great idea! You don't have to be a super-sporty type to explore the trails or try some mountaineering.

There are some fantastic walks across mountain pastures surrounded by the local flora and fauna. Plus, it's much cooler in the mountains than by the sea! Another reason to enjoy a mountain holiday: there are far fewer holidaymakers than on the Côte d'Azur, so you'll get to enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet!

Some ski lifts also operate in the summer, so you can easily reach the resort's amazing peaks! You can also attach a mountain bike to the chairlifts and head off on a mountain cycle or get some downhill mountain bike action. Plus you can hire a mountain bike for the day.

There are loads of other summer activities on offer: Ziplining, the Mountain Kart, the Big Air Bag (a huge inflatable airbag that cushions big jumps!)...

Plus, the local producers will be delighted to show off their trades: bakery, cheese and cured meats cooperative, visit to a sheepfold... If you're allowed, pop a local cheese (or even 2 or 3?) in your suitcase to enjoy when you get home!
