We get talkative in Barbaste. Of course, we’re talking about duck breast fillets, croustade and armagnac. But a good meal can only truly be appreciated after a day well spent. The lake of the Lagüue in Pompiey is the home of a dark legend. Its owners and all their possessions, including their animals, are said to have been swallowed up by the waters of the lake because of the avarice of the couple, Ronald and Babet. Indeed, the latter would have refused a bunch of grapes and then a glass of wine to a pilgrim who, on Christmas Eve, swallowed man, woman and possessions. It is said that the rooster crow and the bells chime sometimes on December 24th. Others say they saw the Tirelauze estate rise out of the water on December 31 at midnight, only to disappear again a minute later... A lake and a legend that inspired even George Sand.

Little tourist train in Nerac

It is a nice enough commented walk to discover differently the landscapes of Lot-et-Garonne, with its viaducts, its tunnels, its fields, its castles, its fauna and its flora. Start from Nérac station on the old railway tracks to go to Mézin and settle down in wagons open on the sides, pulled by an authentic diesel or steam locomotive. You will be able to make the round trip in the same time, but we advise you to leave in the morning, walk around and have lunch in Mézin to take the train back in the afternoon.

A little round of golf?

Located just next to the residence, you can play its 18 holes between Landes and Gascony or just practice with a bucket of balls on the driving range. Children are also welcome.
