Near our accommodation by Lake Annecy, you'll also find numerous well-signposted hiking routes (don't forget the picnic). Feel like walking around the lake?  Well, you can! There are footpaths that allow you to do the full 43 km. You can also rent bicycles and go through all the villages around the lake on the bike paths. 

In Annecy itself, you'll also find lots to do. Lose yourself in the narrow streets of the old town and admire the colourful houses, canals and fantastic restaurants. Also not to be missed is the Palais de l’île, listed as a historic site since 1900. Another must is Château d'Annecy, which dates back to the 13th century.  

If you're into having brunch, here are 2 restaurants you absolutely have to visit – Le Bar Roux d'Heure and La Bicyclette Rose. A cosy setting, fresh ingredients, delicious pancakes, mouth-watering hot chocolate... you're in for a real treat! Just be aware they don't take reservations, so you'll probably have to wait a bit to get a table, but be rest assured it's worth it.
