The medieval village of Giez, by Lake Annecy
Make yourself at home at the foot of the Bauges Mountains and get ready for an action-packed holiday. Spend an afternoon playing golf whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the mountains and lake. Fancy a family picnic? Choose from the many local hiking routes and spend the day with the marmots and chamois. Another fantastic activity you can do nearby is rent a bike and cycle around Lake Annecy (40 km). Apart from admiring the stunning views, you can also stop to take a dip and visit the charming nearby villages, such as Talloires.
Another must is a visit to Annecy. This town on the shores of the lake simply exudes charm! And to pamper yourself even more, why not head into town for brunch?
Our favourites: Le Bar Roux d'Heure and La Bicyclette Rose. You'll be sure to fall in love with the cosy decor, home-made brunches and fresh culinary creations on offer! Brookies, hot chocolate, granola, pancakes... what more could you want? Bear in mind that both are very popular and don't take reservations, so you might have to wait a bit to get a table. After all, the best things in life are worth waiting for, right?
You're in for a truly unforgettable holiday! if you are still hesitating but absolutely want a swimming pool, find all our vacation homes with swimming pool.
If you are planning a day in Annecy you should have a brunch. The Bar Roux d'Heure or La Bicyclette Rose are the 2 best brunches in town. A cosy setting, fresh products, delicious pancakes, excellent sweet and savory plates, in short it's amazing! Be careful, they do not take bookings.
One thing to do: cycling around the lake (you can do it by walking but it's still 43 km)! Rent a bike (classic or electric) and benefit from the bike paths to go around the beaches and villages along the lake.
Annecy is a beautiful city with the purest lake in Europe running through the city. You can stroll through the old town, go shopping, visit the castle, ride a pedal boat etc.
Annecy has a whole host of markets! Here are just a few of them:
- Place des Romains food market: Tuesdays from 7am to 7pm.
- Food and sundries market in the Pommaries district: Wednesdays from 8am to midday.
- Boulevard Taine food and sundries market: Saturdays from 7am to 1pm.
Then install the free ViAnnecy app and download walking itineraries with active voice GPS, quizzes, photos, videos... There's something for everyone, from family walks to more challenging routes!
Try a trip around the lake in a pedalo or paddle! For the more adventurous, slide down the pedalo slide or jump off the paddle!
