Sainte-Mère-Église: Sainte-Mère-Église is another well-known WW2 site, as it was the first town to be liberated by American troops during the landings. Take a tour of the Airborne Museum, which tells the story of the American paratroopers, and pop into its famous church where a paratrooper's parachute famously got caught on the bell tower.
