Things to do in and around Porto-Vecchio
The famous town of Porto-Vecchio is known as Corsica's premier holiday destination.
Only a few kilometres from your holiday home in Porto-Vecchio's Salina Bay****, you will find the famous beach in Palombaggia where you will be able to relax and perfect your tan! This beach is also ideal for children thanks to its shallow waters!
We also recommend a visit to the Alta Rocca, a mountainous area marked out by the Cuscionu plateau, the Bavella mountain range, and L'Ospedale, a small mountain village at an altitude of 900m not far from your holiday home in Porto-Vecchio. The Alta Rocca is also part of the Corsica Regional Natural Park. The region offers a variety of countryside and exceptional fauna and flora that are worth a visit, take our word for it!
But southern Corsica is not just about incredible landscapes! It is also known for its gastronomic offerings.
You will be able to try coppa, along with other local specialities. The sausage is cured, then dried and peppered! You can eat it raw and in thin slices, or why not enjoy with a small glass of wine as an aperitif?
For sweet dishes, we recommend fiadone, a local Corsican gateau. Flavored with a lemon zest, this cake is to be enjoyed in generous portions!
So, are you charmed by the Île de Beauté?
