If you wish to rent a holiday apartment near the Canal du Midi, come and discover our holiday residence in the Aude: Port Minervois / Les Hauts du Lac. It is located in Homps, a pretty little village which benefits from an ideal situation to let go and relax.

The residence consists of studios and villas, the latter having their own garden and furnished terraces. It offers two swimming pools to all travellers and some villas have their own private pool: with us you will feel like a fish in water. For the residence's swimming pools, you will need the appropriate clothing: traditional swimming trunks, one- or two-piece swimming costume compulsory. 

For reasons of hygiene, long overalls, swimming shorts and, more generally, all loose-fitting clothing are prohibited. Persons dressed in anything other than the aforementioned swimwear are not permitted in the pool area;)

The Port Minervois and Les Hauts du Lac*** holiday residences have several sports and leisure facilities: tennis, minigolf, beach volleyball, table tennis, petanque (boules game) and multi-sports ground, as well as a children's playground. Not forgetting the wellness area: fitness room, and hammam.

Our charming 25 m² studios can accommodate up to 2 people: ideal for young couples! Regarding the villas for rent, you have the choice between several configurations:

• 2 rooms of 52 m² for 4 people; 
• 3 rooms of 60 m² for 6 people; 
• 4 rooms of 73 m² for 8 people; 
• 5 rooms of 95 m² for 10 people.

Family, friends: take whoever you want, even your pet if you feel like it!

Each accommodation is equipped with a kitchenette: fridge, ceramic hob, microwave grill, dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle. There is also a living room with a pull-out sofa bed for 2 people, television, vacuum cleaner and iron. 

Holidays on the Canal du Midi: discoveries close to the residence

Your holiday accommodation near the Canal du Midi is located in the Pays Corbieres Minervois. In these rural areas, the landscape is characterised by a lot of rocks and lots of pine trees. As for the vines, they are everywhere! 

To the north, the Haut-Languedoc. In the south, the Corbieres Massif. And in between flow several rivers, but especially the Canal du Midi! And on its 240 km, half of it goes through the Aude.

The bicycle paths allow you to enjoy this marvel, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, without spoiling it. You can also simply stroll along the towpath and, of course, don't hesitate to sail on the water. It is possible to board at Homps: one minute's walk from the residence Port Minervois / Les Hauts du Lac*** you reach the port of the village. Go for a 2-hour guided cruise aboard a gabarre. 

Several other jewels are to be discovered within a radius of only about 30 km, such as the superb Fontfroide Abbey or the impressive medieval city of Carcassonne, with its 3 km of ramparts. 

In this vast countryside, visit some iconic villages: Caunes-Minervois and Minerve (classified among the Most Beautiful Villages in France) are particularly splendid. Right next to Homps, you can take a trip back in time by visiting several extremely picturesque villages, such as Argens-Minervois, Peyriac-Minervois, Le Somail or Puicheric.

A little further away, but no more than an hour from the holiday residence Port Minervois / Les Hauts du Lac***, you will find some of the most spectacular Cathar castles: the Aguilar Castle near Tuchan or the remains of the Termes Castle, which offer extraordinary panoramas. Don't forget your camera!

You will find a few bike rental services in Homps. An extensive choice of models and accessories is offered by Evadeo in Carcassonne, for the duration of your stay, or at Paulette's in Narbonne. Don't forget the increasingly popular apps, such as OuiBike, BimBimBikes or BeBike, for rental between individuals.

Residence Port Minervois / Les Hauts du Lac***: your holiday accommodation in the countryside

Lake Jouarres is less than a 5-minute walk from your holiday accommodation on the Canal du Midi. This lake is very pleasant, very cool in summer for swimming! In this season, leisure facilities are provided for children and activities are offered by the sailing club: pedalo boats, canoeing and windsurfing. 

For lovers of good wines, without wanting to incite you to drink too much, the list of tasting cellars is extensive. Let's mention some of the wine-producing villages closest to the residence Port Minervois / Les Hauts du Lac***: Lezignan-Corbieres, Fabrezan, Argens-Minervois, Boutenac, Lagrasse, Camplong-d'Aude. You can also discover the fine wines of the Aude at the Maison des vins du Minervois. From June onwards, there is an excellent range of activities on offer. 

Don't forget you're in the Eldorado of bicycle touring. Fantastic tours can be made on the paths between the vineyards!
